Last Vanouver Post...??

We all arranged to meet one last time at a bar/restaurant which was about a 5 minute walk from my parent's house.

The bar is called "Portland Craft."
I think it is a relatively new bar..but I could be wrong...

As soon as I walked inside I liked the atmsophere...
It was dark, warm and the vibe was good.

This bar specializes in beers...They have a chalkboard above behind the bar with all the available draft beers on it.
If you don't know what's good...

you can order samples which come in groups of 4.
If you know what you are doing...you can choose or if you have no idea like me...You can ask the waitress to choose for you...

The beer was nuts!!  I liked the 2nd one...but I don't remember what it was...

They also have lots of food at the Portland Craft...
Leo was dying to try something called "Put a Bird on it"

It comes with ... a couple of pieces of hop-fried buttermilk organic chicken, Belgian waffles and is served with maple syrup and gravy...

It sounds kinda weird but it was actually really good...
My friends also ordered a couple of other things from the menu...

Altogether 7 of us gathered at the Portland craft...It was a very enjoyable night....

Thanks guys...See you all next year...

December 28...

Today I arranged to meet Leo, Tiffany and Gloria....
Leo picked us up at around 12:00 and .....

we went for lunch at the Fortune House Seafood Restaurant in Metrotown...We had a 1 o'clock reservation but we still had to wait for about 45 minutes...
While we waited...we had time to take some pictures...

Leo and I.

Gloria and I.

The 3 of us...

Finally we got into the restaurant and .....

Gloria ordered various dishes for us...

While we ate lunch we talked about the good old days...
Tons of stories....Lots of memories...
I really missed them...
I wish we could hang out more than once a year...

Vancouver....December 27th....night...

Before bed...
My parents wanted to compare Japanese Whiskey to Scotch Whiskey...

I think that Japanese whiskey is very good...and my parents both agreed...
While I ate my bedtime toast...My parents made me try on a bunch of hats...

Here is the Indiana Jones look...

Here is the Mexican look...

Anyways... It was a lot of fun and...We all had a good laugh...

Vancouver...December 27....

Well... We were lucky to have another clear warm, day...

Today.. We arranged to meet Leo sensei downtown in the early afternoon...
So...We got up early and I got my dad to drop us off downtown at around 11 am...

We had a couple of hours to kill before we met Leo...so....We did some shopping and then we went for lunch ...

I was really looking forward to eating at "Taco Time" for the 1st time in a year....

Ayako sensei really wanted to eat Udon so she chose the restaurant next to it...  "Koya"

She ordered a gyoza udon...

I ordered a large burrito....

The burritos are available in 2 sizes...Regular or Large..

The burrito was filled with ground beef, cheddar cheese, fresh lettuce and tomato.
It was topped with sour cream and rolled into a tortilla.

The burrito was also served with spicy salsa...

The sauce was pretty spicy so..I went to Orange Julius to get a drink..
Orange Julius serves great smoothies...
Take a look at their menu....

I ordered a Berry Pomegranate Smoothie...Had to wait while they made it...

I ordered a Large one...

I really enjoyed them both....Cheers!!
